Board Owl had the great pleasure of facilitating the appointment of Jane Piper as an Advisor for MANU. We wish them all much success!
To give you more insights about our collaboration with MANU, Daumantas Zamalis, CEO of MANU, kindly answered our questions. He tells us more about MANU as a company, the collaboration with his advisors as well as his experience with Board Owl.
Tell us a little about the story behind MANU
At manu we work to translate high volume of online form interactions into profiles to support companies in user selection. As a result companies can significantly reduce client onboarding costs, manage risks and improve conversion rates. While in the F10 Zurich incubation program for fintechs we had to rethink how we address knowledge, expertise and network gaps in order to accelerate growth of the company.
We were introduced to the Board Owl.
How was your experience with Board Owl?
“To be honest, in the very beginning I was quite skeptical as adding a number of new people to the company with very little connection is potentially a waste of time. Especially if the experience and attitude is somehow detached or distant from the needs and reality of the startup. Contrary to my expectations, the people I have met through the Board Owl were very senior and exceptionally motivated. In addition I have received timely support from the Board Owl team to navigate the process of advisor search and onboarding.”
What was the reason behind your decision to create an advisory board?
“As CEO I constantly felt as lacking, out of capacity to comprehend all the topics and the complexity of a company creation especially when the ambitions and expectations are on the level of a multi million revenue driven organisation. Thus I had to look for support that can address the ambition. And perhaps one of the few ways to do it is to establish an advisory board that would complement the founding team and would bring needed knowledge, expertise and network.”
How are you working with your new board?
“We are still in the process of establishing the board. Though we have already drafted certain ground rules for the team characteristics, for the interaction, exchange and control.”
Would you recommend companies looking to add someone to their advisory board to use Board Owls platforms?
“Absolutely!!!”
