We are very pleased to invite you to our next webinar as a part of the ongoing Dialogue Series. It is an ongoing series of webinars covering the most current and relevant topics, which are emerging on the agendas of corporate boards and having a substantial impact on the responsibilities on boards and its members.

Together with PwC Switzerland we unpack how the critical issues of our times are being discussed and addressed by the supervisory and executive boards in financial and other organizations.

With a distinguished panel of experts, the upcoming topic we will cover in detail will be:

Time to Reflect: The critical importance of boards’ supporting the organizational mental health and well-being

The topics of mental health and emotional well-being of executives and employees have been for a long time overlooked due to unwarranted stigma attached to mental health issues as well as uncertainty about how to navigate stress, depression, anxiety, burnout and other conditions and illnesses. The COVID-19 pandemic increased the issue where, according to a study conducted by Oracle and Workplace Intelligence in 2021, more than four in five C-suite executives (85%) reported having problems working outside the office setting. The hurdles ranged from leaders’ increased stress and anxiety, problems with collaborating virtually and lack of workplace culture to name a few. The story gets even more alarming in numbers for the mid-level executives.

In 2021 mental health issues were the primary reason for sick days, accounting for 19 per cent of all lost working time in the UK, more than confirmed COVID cases, which represented 16 per cent. Around 60% of mental health-related sick leave is caused by toxic work environments. This means that senior leaders are in an unique position to address employee mental health as a strategic topic by taking steps to ensure their organizations are psychologically safe.

The upcoming webinar will focus on what Corporate Boards and Directors should be looking out for, and not only for their workforces and executive teams, but as well within their respective boards. The discussion will be around how boards and directors need to address mental health strategically and how to approach it to mitigate illness, prevent harm, and promote thriving.

In order to share these insights, we are very pleased to have the following panelists who along with expertise in the area have powerful personal stories to share and inspire:
